Reimbursement Specialist – Cash Application Coordinator will be responsible for batching, sorting, scanning EOBs and other Remittance Advices received from payors, posting cash and denials, processing credit card, insurance refunds as well as maintaining accurate payor information on the company’s intranet.
This is a hybrid role.
Essential Job Duties:
- Create remittance files for the daily cash deposits and upload onto the intranet.
- Generate daily/weekly/monthly deposit cash log report, retrieve remittance advice from clearinghouse and download 835 files from insurance payor websites and assist with excel and analytical special projects as assigned as directed by Revenue Cycle Management, Supervisor and Director of Reimbursement.
- Post cash deposits and denials as needed to maintain current status within department. Inform Reimbursement, Supervisor of any and all backlog situations as soon as they arise.
- Process credit card payment from insurance companies, facilities and patients as well as creating credit card files to be included with the cash deposit.
- Research payors websites to gather information needed (including fee schedules) to analyze refund request of overpayments. Contact insurance payors to discuss and/or dispute refund request, claims and obtain remittance advice when necessary.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:
- High School Diploma or equivalent with at least three years’ of experience in office working environment; Demonstrated competency in medical coding and billing terminology.
- Demonstrated ability to review remittance from a variety of payers, investigate issues with invoices and confer with internal and external parties to resolve discrepancies.
- Medical billing knowledge, data entry, ability to learn and grasp new systems and processes quickly, proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Dependable and adherence to deadlines. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills including being solutions oriented and ability to communicate a sense of authority through subject matter expertise and resourcefulness.
- Good communication skills, both written and verbal, detail oriented, highly organized, and personable.
Salary Range: $18-$20 an hour
