Director of Pharmacy

Department: Administrative - Corporate - AZ
Location: Gilbert, AZ

The Director of Pharmacy will lead and manage all functions of pharmacy operation, including clinical, order entry, facility maintenance, prescription dispensing and compounding, budget monitoring, as well as build new clinical and operational processes and service offerings. This role will interact effectively with the pharmacy leadership team, confer with Sr. management/executive team and contribute to the continued growth and success of the company.

This role will be located in our new Pharmacy in Gilbert, AZ.

Essential Job Duties:

  • Assumes the Pharmacist in Charge (PIC)/Manager of Record (MOR) responsibilities for the pharmacy, manages all site inspections by regulatory agencies and accrediting bodies, and coordinates insurance audit responses in conjunction with the corporate compliance team.
  • Develops and maintains an ongoing staffing model to assure that the pharmacy (clinical/production) and distribution teams are appropriately staffed to meet the demands of the business in an efficient and comprehensive manner.
  • Assists in the development and oversight of the Pharmacy Quality Commitment (PQC) program that provides a mechanism for monitoring and improving the activities and processes associated with pharmacy workflows, and implements corrective and preventative action (CAPA) plans to improve performance within the department.
    • Assures a well-developed training program is in place for all new pharmacy personnel, as well as ongoing training of existing personnel on all necessary procedures and policies required to maintain full compliance with all regulatory and quality assurance standards.
    • In coordination with the VP of Pharmacy, is responsible for the maintenance of the pharmacy facility to ensure operational readiness at all times.

Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • BS in Pharmacy/PharmD from an accredited school of pharmacy; Licensure to practice pharmacy; Board Certification in Sterile Compounding (preferred)
  • 5-10 years of supervisory experience; 2-5+ yrs. experience in home infusion or specialty pharmacy
  • Innovative thinker with strong leadership, tactical implementation and organizational/time management skills; Excellent project management ability; Highly driven and customer oriented.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools.

Salary Range: $160,000 - $175,000 Annual

Pentec Health offers a comprehensive compensation and full benefits package. Actual pay will be based on several factors such as qualifications and skills for the role plus geographic location.
